The Perfect Jegging

I’m just going to come right out and say it: I hated wearing pants for a very, very long time. I was strictly a dresses and skirts type of girl until I discovered the awesomeness that is the jegging. As plus size women, we all know how hard it can be to find the perfect pair of jeans, but the creation of jeggings completely solves that dilemma. Each pair fits as if it’s custom made for your body, and the fact that they are as comfortable as PJs doesn’t hurt either. I suggest grabbing a pair in light, dark, and acid wash denim, because these babies aren’t going out of style any time soon.

Summer is on its Way

It’s finally warming up, and with the brief bit of sunshine we’ve gotten, I’m already daydreaming of summer days. There are a few months left before it gets hot enough to lay poolside, but that doesn’t stop me from lusting after some of this season’s cutest swimwear. This year I am all about the bikini, and the blue animal print one by Evans is #1 on my wishlist. If you’re not comfortable showing your tummy, don’t fret! There are some great tankinis and one-pieces out as well. Just remember, being plus-sized doesn’t have to mean looking dowdy at the beach. Skip the cover-ups and show off your curves!

Get the Look: Rihanna

We all know that Rihanna is one of the hottest fashion icons around right now, and for good reason! She’s known for taking risks–along with her daring short haircuts, her outfits usually include spikes, chains, studs, and five inch heels. Just like the rest of us though, even Rihanna has days where she’s in the mood to throw on some sneakers to run around town. She was recently spotted at the airport in London wearing a cool casual outfit, showing the world you don’t have to sacrifice style for comfort.

Replicating Rihanna’s look here is simple! Start with a pair of black leggings and a graphic tee, and then layer a grey cardi with a great black bomber. Voila! You’re officially ready to look stylish on your days off. (Chop off your locks at your own risk).

An Introduction to Gabi Gregg

I was more than happy when evans asked me to contributing blogger this week! As a plus sized girl who prides herself on looking fabulous, evans is one store I can always count on to provide trendy, fashionable items in my size. I’m from the U.S. and evans was the first UK plus sized retailer I found out about! They introduced me to a whole new world of overseas shopping, and I haven’t looked back since.

If you’re wondering who I am exactly, my name is Gabi and I write the fashion blog, Young, Fat and Fabulous. I began blogging back in fall of 2008 out of a passion for writing and shopping, and so many wonderful opportunities have presented themselves since. I now assist on photo shoots with styling and I also contribute video blogs to Vogue Italia‘s new website! I am super excited about the trends this Spring, and I can’t wait to share my outfits, wishlists, and tips with you for the next seven days!

The Evans Spring catalogue has landed at last! We think it looks fantastic – even if we do say so ourselves. To mark the launch of the new catalogue, we thought we’d put up some pictures that we took behind the scenes at the catalogue photoshoot.

It just goes to show how many people – models, hairstylist, make-up artist, a stylist and photographer – go into making a photoshoot happen.

We had a fantastic day and really enjoyed working with such a great team, but one of the best bits had to be sitting down together to a slice of gorgeous chocolate cake for tea!

New Face at 12+ UK Model Management – Natalie

Thought I would let you all know about our beautiful New Face at 12+ UK – NATALIE who has a fantastic fashion spread in this month’s PRIDE magazine.

Look at those gorgeous legs in that fabulous Evans coat!

Maybe a nice pair of jeans would work better for most of us out there for this look, but I think Natalie can pull it off for sure.

Natalie is a size 14-16 and 5’10” tall and her modelling career has already taken off in the few months she has been with 12+ UK

Evans Very Own Brigitte Bardot?

I enjoyed a lovely sunny Mothers Day weekend with by husband and my 3 beautiful boys. But, I still had my agent hat on as I popped into Evans and picked up a few copies of the latest catalogue with our stunning Hayley on the cover. I think all the shots look fantastic, but I particularly like this lingerie shot. I am loving the Brigitte Bardot hair and the pale lips….. STUNNING!! The lingerie looks pretty gorgeous too – I’ve heard that peach is the colour for Spring
