We’ve just had a sneak preview of the fashion designers of the future at the Graduate Fashion Week show in London’s Earls Court.
Pass Out rapper Tinie Tempah warmed up the crowds with a couple of tunes and then we were treated to some gorgeous catwalk shows.
Fashion students from major universities including Central St Martins, Kingston University, Nottingham Trent and Manchester Metropolitan all put on dazzling displays of their final portfolios.
It was hard to pick our favourite things out of the feast of fashion but we loved this collection of dresses and tops with outrageous shoulder pads. They seem to start on the shoulders and then fan out down the body.
Plus you can’t go wrong with a Batman style cape, we want one of these for Autumn / Winter.
Move over Roberto Cavalli and watch your back John Galliano, British designers are back!
The winners from our Mothers Day competition, to win a Mother & Daughter Style makeover were Tracey and Chloe!
Last Saturday they visited Lakeside where they both had their hair cut and styled and then shopped up a storm at evans.
Here are some pics of their day below and a lovely thank you letter we received.
Thank you all at Evans for the lovely day myself and my daughter Chloe had at Lakeside on Saturday. We were completely spoiled, we have some beautiful clothes and accessories, a wonderful new haircut, and lots of goodies, it was a wonderful day, the Evans staff were lovely, very, very friendly and helpful. Thank you again.
Our gorgeous butterfly silk maxi dress finally went on-line on Friday, apologies to all of you who have been waiting a few weeks for this. This dress is sure to see you through the summer season. Follow in our model Laura’s footsteps and style it with some gladiator sandals and stacked gold bangles.
Christine Bleakley has added yet another achievement to her glittering CV: a Glamour Woman of The Year Award.
The One Show host turned all heads at the star studded ceremony in London’s Berkeley Square as she skipped onto the stage in a bright pink dress to accept the TV Presenter of the Year statue from host James Corden.
Then she was one of the last to leave the after-party, speaking to all of the well-wishers that congratulated her.
Christine (one of the current faces of the BBC) seemed to get on extra well with Britain’s Got Talent judges Amanda Holden and Piers Morgan, raising questions if a move to ITV is on the cards?
Adrian Chiles, who presented The One Show with her, left the Beeb to start GMTV and there had been rumours Christine had signed a £3 million deal to follow him.
But we can reveal the in-demand star is snubbing ITV as she said: ‘I’m staying put. I’m happy.’
Bleakley was reportedly offered a Saturday night prime time show by the BBC as well as a bigger salary and her new One Show co-host will be comedian Jason Manford.
Christine added: ‘I love Jason. I’ve met him a few times and our rapport is getting better.
‘I’m confident our chemistry will be as good as the one Adrian and I shared. We just need time.’
The Northern Irish TV presenter is in the papers practically every day at the moment and everyone wants a piece of her, which could leave her tired and drained, so it was a surprise (in a good way) to see her glowing in a salmon pink dress.
If you’re feeling low or under the weather, a bright colour will lift your mood and put a grin on your face.
The coolest person I met this week was also called Zoe; Avatar actress Zoe Saldana.
We met at the Glamour Woman of the Year Awards after she won Best Film Actress.
What stood out about her was that she was wearing a dress with sleeve detail and I was totally jealous as the awards were in a marquee and it was a bit chilly.
Few celebrities are brave enough to wear sleeves to a glamorous awards do at the risk of appearing frumpy.
However, Zoe proves you can still look sexy in a long sleeve dress. The right kind of embellishment on the top half takes attention away from your bottom, and means everyone is looking at your most flattering areas, the face and bust!
It’s the lace detail that really makes it, and Evans has a something similar with a black rose and lace dress.
So what’s the gossip with Zoe? She’s been dating American actor Keith Britton for more than 10 years.
The low-key star revealed: ‘I am in love but I have no plans to get married. It works out well at the moment, so let’s just keep it that way. At the moment it’s still special as we make time for each other, I like being boyfriend and girlfriend.’
With the actress looking so hot, Keith’s going to have to make his proposal extra special.
Hollywood star Katherine Heigl shares the big screen with Aston Kutcher in The Killers but she was all on her own at the film’s UK premiere this week.
It’s a shame Aston couldn’t make it (he’s scorching hot) but Katherine held her own on the red carpet in a stylish Victoria Beckham dress and sky high heels.
What’s fabulous about her footwear is the fact that the heels are slightly wider than average stilletoes, so she could keep them on all night long.
The Grey’s Anatomy actress stayed til after midnight mingling at the premiere after-party in London’s Criterion Restauarnt, which is impressive given that most Hollywood stars behave like Cinderella at showbiz parties and sip water before leaving early to get their beauty sleep.
But then it was one of the rare nights out she’s had since adopting 10-month-old daughter Naleigh from South Korea.
Katherine, who is married to actor Josh Kelley, was inspired by her own mother, who adopted her Korean sister Meg when she was a child. She told us: ‘It’s so funny. My mum and I joke about it when people say ‘you’re just doing it because it’s trendy’.’
‘My mum says ‘Well, i’m trendier than everybody because I was doing it in the 1970s when I adopted your sister’.’
We think Katherine was trendier than everyone else when it came to clothes and shoes as well.
All of Evans shoes come in wide fit with sizes E and EEE, and designed for maximum comfort with chunky heels so you can dance all night long. Treat yourelf today!
At Evans we work hard and play hard and we did both at The Ivy Club last night as we met the country’s top fashion journalists.
We invited editors from Look Magazine, Vogue, Stylist, Cosmopolitan and Red Carpet Fashion Awards to check out the latest developments from Evans and our sister brands Topshop, Wallis and Dorothy Perkins.
It was such a glamorous evening. The room was decorated with paintings of our favourite things, shoes.
A large screen in the room showed behind the scenes footage from the new Evans adverts.
A team of girls from Flip Video showed journalists how to use their new cameras to film the evening for their blogs.
What a way to showcase exciting new developments that you’ll all be able to see when the Autumn / Winter Collection reaches the stores.
Hopefully, you’ll love it as much as the press, who gave us lots of lovely compliments.
Gill Wanless, Asocciate Editor of Look magazine said: ‘Evans keeps getting better and better, it’s great to be able to work with a label that makes fashion for real women.
We’re really excited about going to New York to do a photoshoot with Evans and plus-size model Crystal Renn for our September issue.’
Catherine from Red Carpet Style Awards said: ‘The new Evans website has lots of attitude, I love it!’
Nothing makes me more excited than shopping for underthings. While I generally despise all things overly girly with ruffles, lace, bows and other cutesy details, I cannot help but indulge a bit when it comes to lingerie. That is where my feminine side comes out and I can add a pop of color into my seemingly all-black wardrobe. Evans has a few options that is sure to add some fun to those times when underwear becomes outerwear!
What do you look for when purchasing lingerie? Patterns? Colors? Details? I’m such a sucker for garters!
From Left to Right:
Beth is back!
Spread the Gossip, style icon and chart topper Beth Ditto has designed a second range of gorgeous clothes for Evans.
Her debut collection flew off the rails when it was launched last year and we’re really excited about the new designs.
There’s something for everyone with Victorian mixed with 80s punk, through to 40s vintage with a noughties modern edge.
Beth’s been inspired by touring the world with her band The Gossip, taking notice of what she’s seen from Africa to America.
The only bad news is that you’ll have to wait until September until it hits stores.
But they do say the best things in life are worth waiting for. . .
We have a treat for you today! Here is an exclusive preview of Evans cool new Autumn / Winter collection. Feast your eyes on a selection of our favourite looks below:
It’s been difficult to narrow it down as there are so many beautiful new tops, dresses, coats and jackets. That’s not to mention the gorgeous range of handbags, jewellery and shoes that come in E and EEE wide fit!
However, we reckon you’ll love our new day dresses which look super stylish teamed with thigh high boots and a cropped leather jacket.
Maxi dresses were a summer must-have and there is a fresh range for autumn, which can be worn with flats for the day or with chunky clogs for instant evening glamour.
Find your wild side with some faux fur embellished jackets and chic shrugs.
Or treat yourself to some lovely lingerie, which will pull you in and push you up in all the right places making you look even better in the next season’s clothes.
