Last Thursday Evans had a lovely evening playing rounders in Hyde Park, we took along a picnic and a few bottles of wine. . . the sun was out and everyone was in the mood for a good few games. By the end it all got a little too competitive, but it was still great fun!
I like to have an award for the strangest or most fabulous thing I’ve seen all week and this time the honour goes to Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanada Holden, who wore a bizarre hat to the first day of the Ascot races.
I can’t work out if it’s gorgeous or just plain garish, but it seems to have brought the Britain’s Got Talent presenter good luck as it looked like she was cheering on a winner from Simon Cowell’s private box in the royal enclosure.
Britain’s Got Talent may be over for another series with gymnastics group Spelbound crowned the winners, but the TV host is still dressing to impress.
Ambitious Amanda was telling everyone that had time to listen that she was off to America for auditions.
She appeared on some US talk shows after Susan Boyle shot to fame on the last series of BGT and she’s hoping to hook up with the same contacts.
Good luck Mandy, but maybe take the hat off before the interviews!

The pressure is on for Alexandra Burke as she’s in the recording studio working on a follow up to her platinum selling debut album.
Most bands find it difficult to improve on their first record, and it must be especially tough for the X Factor 2008 winner whose first album Overcome went straight to number 1 when it was released in October 2009.
But she wasn’t worried when I met her at the launch of the new Samsung Galaxy S phone this week and confessed she was working on a very special collaboration. . . with Usher.
Nothing has been set in stone yet, but Alex told me (with a massive grin on her face) she’s been exchanging text messages with the OMG singer ever since meeting him at Capital Radio’s summertime ball a fortnight ago.
She confessed: ‘I’m off to LA for four days next week to shoot my new video and I’m hoping to hook up with Usher out there. It’s really exciting!’
We think so too and we are inspired by the pretty singer’s outfit which has lots of our favourite thing: embellishment.
At Evans, there is a lovely embellished black maxi dress that definitely has the X Factor.
I’ve heard a lot about Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai, and I was dazzled when I met the former Miss World in the flesh at the premiere of her newest film Raavan.
I took the above photo on the red carpet at London’s BFI cinema and this hasn’t been digitally enhanced in any way. Her skin is literally flawless.
No wonder Aishwarya, who has previously starred in hit movies Bride and Prejudice and Pink Panther 2, is one of the faces of L’Oreal cosmetics. The blue eyed beauty definitely is ‘worth it’.
She’s now one of the highest earners in Indian cinema and is often called the Queen of Bollywood.
The King is her husband Abhishek Bachan, who also stars in Raavan and attended the film premiere on Wednesday night.
But are there any plans for little Princes and Princesses after three years of marriage?
The private actress blushed as she said: ‘Who knows?’ Intriguing. . .
If they did have babies soon we know they would be gorgeous!
Aishwarya looked so elegant in her sari at the gala premiere.
The sari style reminds me of the maxi dress style that has been so popular this summer, and Evans has a great selection.
Our best-selling butterfly print maxi dress reminds us of the beautiful Bollywood star’s: bold and colourful and perfect for a night on the town.
Or the Aztec print maxi dress is similar but with mid length sleeves.
With the summer temperatures steadily increasing, lately I’ve gone into my collection of t-shirts to help keep me cool. Now I’m not much of a plain t-shirt kind of girl, I prefer my shirts to have a cool detail of some kind to make it stand out. For that reason, graphic t-shirts have become my go-to item. After coming across a few old ones that I haven’t worn in a while, I set out to find a way to make them more fun!
Enter Balmain’s S/S 2010 collection. Inspired by the torn and tattered look of the t-shirts Christophe Decarnin sent down the runways, I decided to add some edge to my plain white t-shirt by loosening the threads, which creates a shredded effect. It was a time consuming task but the end result was absolutely worth it. It transformed a plain t-shirt into something with a lot more edge! (I’m also wearing the Sleeveless Biker Jacket I got from Evans to complete the look!)
If the shredded shirt look is too much for you, Evans has plenty of cool graphic t-shirts to see you through Summer’s hottest days!
We’ve just had a sneak preview of the fashion designers of the future at the Graduate Fashion Week show in London’s Earls Court.
Pass Out rapper Tinie Tempah warmed up the crowds with a couple of tunes and then we were treated to some gorgeous catwalk shows.
Fashion students from major universities including Central St Martins, Kingston University, Nottingham Trent and Manchester Metropolitan all put on dazzling displays of their final portfolios.
It was hard to pick our favourite things out of the feast of fashion but we loved this collection of dresses and tops with outrageous shoulder pads. They seem to start on the shoulders and then fan out down the body.
Plus you can’t go wrong with a Batman style cape, we want one of these for Autumn / Winter.
Move over Roberto Cavalli and watch your back John Galliano, British designers are back!
The winners from our Mothers Day competition, to win a Mother & Daughter Style makeover were Tracey and Chloe!
Last Saturday they visited Lakeside where they both had their hair cut and styled and then shopped up a storm at evans.
Here are some pics of their day below and a lovely thank you letter we received.
Thank you all at Evans for the lovely day myself and my daughter Chloe had at Lakeside on Saturday.
