Gold star for Alison Goldfrapp for showing her dress sense is as cool as her music.
The edgy singer and songwriter has just been included in Esquire magazine’s 75 Brilliant Brits feature and marked the occasion by attending a celebration dinner at central London tapas restaurant Aqua Nueva.
I was at the dinner, also attended by the gorgeous Daisy Lowe, T4 presenters Jameela Jamil and Rick Edwards and The In-Betweeners comedians Joe Lucas and James Buckley, and I wish I wore something lovely and loose-fitting given the feast we consumed.
Starting with octopus, moving to a main course of hake or Spanish style lamb and followed by vanilla pannacotta, it was all washed down with chilled Champagne.
Alison told me she was also celebrating the release of the band’s fifth studio album Head First, which was released in March.
Maybe that explains the statement gold necklace, which reminds us of some of the chunky necklaces and jewellery on sale at Evans.
If you don’t have any particular reason to celebrate then there is always the excuse that it is almost the weekend, happy days!
In SATC2, Charlotte’s having a few issues with motherhood but you’d never guess looking at the immaculate holiday wardrobe she packed for a getaway with the gang.
The red dress is fun and flirty, making her appear feminine and girly.
Before she married Harry, Charlotte used to work in an art gallery so she’s an expert in matching colours.
Copy her with a red dress teamed with red sandals to be a Lady In Red, just like Charlotte.
PR Samantha Jones takes power dressing to a whole new level with a well cut pair of trousers, statement jewellery and sexy sandals.
All Evans trousers are designed to flatter your curves and come in sizes 14 to 32.
This summer, Evans has a pair that nips in at the ankles, drawing attention to one of the slimmest parts of any woman’s body.
The urban chain detail heels are one of this season’s bestsellers.
Go for gold with a sequin clutch, bangle and embellished scarf to indulge your inner Samantha and have people (men included) eating out the palm of your hand!
Miranda is a hot shot lawyer who we normally see wearing sharp suits, but in SATC2 she slowly starts to let go.
In a selection of stylish maxi dresses, we see Miranda look smart yet super stylish.
Maxi dresses can be dressed down for the day but adding some gorgeous sandals and drop ear-rings make it suitable for occasions when you need to impress.
And we’re most impressed by the tribal maxi dress, which is one of Evans bestsellers.
Indulge your inner Carrie Bradshaw by mixing and matching a selection of beautiful statement pieces.
Carrie is the most experimental dresser of the Sex and The City gang. She knows how to layer items almost as well as she knows the locations of the most stylish places to do brunch / sip Cosmopolitans.
The secret is making sure every item is show-stopping.
Team a candyfloss pink top with well cut black trousers. Finish with statement jewellery and a bright silver clutch.
And never forget about the shoes. When it comes to Carrie, it has to be heels and the brighter the better.
No wonder she has the choice of Aidan and Big in the second film!
If the prospect of getting bikini ready makes you gasp in fear, then Evans has a helping hand. All our swimwear is designed to flatter your figure, pulling you in and lifting you up where you need it most.
The Sun newspaper has just tested Evans tummy control suit on one of their plus size models, Zoe McIntosh. Zoe said: ‘This gave me all round support and the smooth lines were really flattering. It felt comfortable and while it may not have had the best measurements, it was definitely my favourite.’

This season, a staple in my wardrobe is maxi length dresses. They are so easy to wear and versatile that they are perfectly suitable for many different occasions. Inspired by Nikki’s week-long maxi dress challenge featured here on Fashion Fix, I’ve put together three outfits built around maxi lengths. Let me know what you think!
Indulge Your Inner Magpie with two of Evans gorgeous new maxi Dresses!
This is a sneak preview of two fabulous frocks that go on sale at Evans in July.
The embellished neckline of these beautiful dresses means they catch the sunlight, leaving you looking radiant.
You can dress a maxi down for the day or dress it up for night and the best thing about these dresses is you don’t have to worry about choosing a matching necklace.
We think the white and black maxi dress would be perfect for evening drinks or a picnic in the park as the sun goes down.
Meanwhile the black floor length dress could be worn for candelit dinners or dancing near the disco ball.
Both are made from a comfortable cotton material so you’ll feel cool, comfortable and chic all night long.
You know summer is here when the celebrities shun their little black dresses for something a little bit more colourful, which is what happened at this week’s National Movie Awards. Ex-Eastender Michelle Ryan’s choice of gold dress means that everyone noticed her.
She’s just got back from America, where she filmed TV show Bionic Woman and a new movie called 126.96.36.199, which is released in cinemas today.
‘If I could choose what movie to do next, I’d do another Pink Panther,’ the stunning star told me. ‘I love classic movies and there’s just something about the pink panther that means I can watch it over and over and over again.’
Talking of pink, Gwyneth Paltrow picked a bright cerise number to present the Screen Icon Award to Tom Cruise.
What’s great about both of the celebrities’ dresses is that they have wide straps so you can wear a bra underneath for extra support.
All Evans going out dresses are designed with comfort in mind. Why not have a look now?
Twilight is one of the biggest film sensations ever, with its star Robert Pattinson being mobbed everywhere he goes. I had the pleasure of meeting the man that plays R-Patz’s on screen father this week. Peter Facinelli, who plays Dr Carlisle Cullen in the Vampire films, got so close to Rob he’s even seen him in the shower.
‘We go to the gym trailer most days on set, you share showers, it’s normal,’ Peter told me. Wow!
They’re shooting the fourth Twilight, Breaking Dawn, in the Autumn (I think I need a trip to Canada where its filmed!)
Peter also revealed details of the real life romance between R-Patz and his co-star Kirsten Stewart, saying: ‘They make a cute couple. Kirsten’s great. She’s down to earth, laid back and easy to talk to.’
Does that means I should pack jeans if I do decide on a trip to Canada?
There were two things I noticed when I spotted Daisy Lowe at the launch of a new Louis Vuitton store this week.
Yes, I couldn’t take our eyes off her cleavage; she looked amazing in a low cut black vest at the star studded bash in LV’s new Bond Street shop. But I was also impressed by her bold and brassy skirt. Giving just a hint of calf and ankle is sexier than putting it all on show in a mini skirt. And it’s refreshing to see there is a stylish alternative to wearing a dress to a formal event.
Looking like this Daisy will have no shortage of male attention but I had to ask about one man in particular, the new Dr Who Mat Smith. The pair got hot and steamy at the Coachella festival in LA last month, but Daisy came across all shy when his name came up. However, she did reveal that she was moving back to the UK though, after spending time modelling in New York last year. Is that because she wants to closer to Matt?
I’m looking forward to seeing more of Daisy and her edgy fashion choices at chic showbiz events very soon.
And if you haven’t done so already, check out the gorgeous skirts at Evans.
We can’t imagine Katherine Jenkins or VV Brown in wellies digging up weeds in the garden, but they were a couple of the VIP guests at the Chelsea Flower show this week.
You don’t have to be green-fingered or have the biggest interest in gardens to visit the annual flower extravaganza. We used it as inspiration for how to wear this season’s floral trend.
Each stand on the 1.1 acre West London site showed us blooms come in all shapes, colours and sizes.
For example, James May’s plasticine garden had oranges, yellows and white daisies
It reminds us of the crushed orange floral top at Evans.
We loved Harts’ Nurseries Lily Garden, which was full of pinks and whites like the ivory scoop neck top at Evans.
The vegetable garden is like the ruffle paisley top
But our pick of the bunch was the model we spotted in a dress literally made from roses.
It was bold, bright and beautiful just like the rose print frill hem top at Evans.
