Fashion galore, one fabulous Evans catwalk show, and 250 beautiful plus size people, last weekend we headed down to Leeds to for a fun filled weekend as the Plus North event.
If you are unaware of the Plus North, it is an annual extravaganza where brands, bloggers and plus size women all come together, connect, shop and celebrate plus size fashion. An intimate event, now in its third year, Plus North is a big deal in the plus-size fashion calendar.
The lovely Rosie from fashion blog: A rose like this, took over our Twitter and Instagram to show you the all the fun she had through her eyes.
Doesn’t Roise look gorgeous in her Evans Ensemble?
We have rounded up a few of our favourite pictures from the event below.
As you can see there was so much energy in the air.
Did you attend Plus North?
Let us know what you thought of the event.
Just incase you haven’t already gathered – we had a blast!
‘Till next year
We just can’t get enough of superstar blogger Nadia Aboulhosn‘s chic take of street style, especially how she finishes her look with standout accessories and adds her unique NYC attitude to all her outfits.

In time to refresh your style for summer, we’ve asked Nadia to pick her favourite pieces of Evans jewellery for Style for Your Shape Studio and show us how she’ll be wearing it! Read her interview below, including top confidence tips and what jewellery to invest in this season.
What are your style rules?
My style rules are that there are no rules. Wear what you love and what makes you feel good.
What’s your body shape and how do you style it?
My body is pear shape and I style it depending on my mood that day. I could feel like wearing something form fitting with heels one day and then jeans with sneakers the next.
What are the big trends for SS14 and how would you style them?
Big trends for SS14 would have to be drop earrings and gold pieces. I would style gold jewellery with all black or all white outfits. Drop earrings look good with your hair both up and down. So I would style them both ways.
What is your favourite piece from Evans for SS14?
Rings are my favourite accessories. I’m in love with the gold and rose gold midi rings. My second favourite piece is the long thin silver chain as this can be styled with anything.
How do you dress up a simple outfit with jewellery?
I love layering necklaces with a really simple outfit (like the all black one I wore getting out of the cab) to really make a statement. It’s fun to experiment with layering especially for night time looks.
What tips can you give to boost confidence?
Focus on what you like about yourself instead of what you don’t like. So many people are stuck on the negative that they can’t acknowledge the great things about themselves because they’re so fixated on what they don’t like. You define what beauty is, not someone else. Keep a positive mind.

Over the weekend of Friday 14th and Saturday 15th February Evans were the proud headline sponsor of British Plus Size Fashion Weekend. An exclusive press launch on Friday 14th February saw us showcase the ground breaking Cut for Evans range plus our extensive range of brands and a preview of Evans SS14. British Plus Size Fashion Weekend was then open to all on Saturday 15th February, bringing attendees the ultimate plus size fashion experience.
There were two fashion shows throughout the day on Saturday, with Evans opening the catwalk show both times with 24 looks including Cut for Evans, Scarlett & Jo, Collection and core ranges. There was also a market place where we had a stand which had beautiful Cut for Evans imagery and the key prints and where attendees could browse the latest Evans clothing and get measured for shape by shape advisors.
As well as customers there were plenty of special guest appearances from models, including America’s Next Top Model winner Whitney Thompson, Hayley Hasselhoff and Felicity Hayward, UK and international bloggers and other VIPs.
We had some lovely feedback from people on the day and on our facebook, twitter and Instagram – “The girls looked STUNNING on the catwalk, The Cut collection was 100% the highlight of the entire show for me. Gorgeous prints, such a refreshing collection.”

We’ve been indulging in some virtual street styling at Evans HQ today. There’s nothing more inspiring than catching up with our readers, customers and bloggers and seeing how they style Evans.
Felicity wears the Scarlett & Jo Black Embellished Neckline Dress (£45) with a delicate drop earring (£6.50) and beautiful matching hairpieces in her ballerina bun. Perfect for special occasions or a summer wedding.
We spotted Jen from Jasifer’s Lions Club is the stunning Scarlett & Jo Blue Spot Dobby Shirt Dress (£45). Complete with mid-length sleeves, a dotted sheer layer on a lined dress inner and an adorable collar – we can’t really think of any reasons not to love it. We’d add bright heels to colourblock the look.
Margie makes the Live Unlimited Black Cut Out Short Sleeve Dress (£65) even more fun with a light grey jacket – try the Grey Marl Jersey Jacket (£35) for an on-trend downtown cool look. Perfect for weekends and evenings alike.
Finally, Nicola at 2Many Cupcakes works the Clements Ribeiro Swan Lobster Print Tunic with a pair of Chelsea ankle boots. Effortless, easy and oh so chic.

The Wide Leg

Crop jeans are so versatile, they go with everything. For a smart weekend look, wear them with a floral shell top, gold loop and weave sandals a summer cross body bag and a gold leaf stretch bracelet.
Have you treated yourself to any new jeans this season ?
There is a reason why we make a list of our favourite top 100 songs. And there is a reason why the same songs keep popping up in these collective charts. They are considered classic and transcending the test of time. In this post I want to share with you a three way look with another classic: the chino trousers.
First worn by US military soldiers at the end of the 19th century, chino trousers have come a long way. Frequently used in casual looks, the chinos comfortable appearance may seem hard to picture otherwise. Playing with different accessories, layers and colours, I’ve created three looks to spice up your chinos.
For the office
Keep your work attire clean, fresh and accessorise with colour to enhance your professional look.
When I go shopping, I’m hopping from one store to another. So I need clothes and accessories that move. Wedges are the perfect alternative to heels, as they are steadier to walk on and don’t cause a problem of I need to run to get that bargain.
For a party
If there is one situation where I think you can go all out with accessories, then it would be at a party. Evans holds a variety of colours and materials to cater to every taste. I chose to bling up my chinos! You want to be noticed at that lounge party, right? All you need now is a cosmopolitan and some great tunes.
How would you style your chinos?
Stylish Blogger Gabi Gregg has been featured in the August issue of Glamour Magazine, she’s been pictured working the layered trend in the evans 2 in 1 printed cover up top. Don’t forget to pick up a copy . . .
