Evans Store Style Spotlight: Evans Leeds White Rose

To make the most of our fantastic shape advisors we’ve decided to share their style and shape advice. The Evans store advisors are always on hand to offer great style advice, free fitting and measuring services and tailored shape advice, so to make sure all our customers benefit from their fantastic knowledge and advice we decided to start ‘Evans Store Style Spotlight’.

Focusing on a team member from an Evans store we’ll find out all about them, their top tips for Shape and the Evans store they work in. For our next installment of ‘Evans Store Style Spotlight’ we’ve gone to the Evans Leeds White Rose store to chat to Wendy Liversidge.

How would you describe your style?

My style is more dress up than dress down. I like to feel comfortable in my clothes and proud of what Im wearing. I have a girlie style, lots of dresses in pretty colours. I also ensure I always accessorise with matching jewellery and accessories.

Would you say you are a confident dresser?

I would consider myself as a confident dresser. I know what I like as soon as I see it. I feel that because I know my body shape I know what styles are best for me and will look good so this makes me feel more confident.

What body shape are you and how do you dress for your shape?

My body shape is a pear. I wear tops and dresses that come in under the bust and tapper or flare out to cover my hips and bum. I also wear wide leg linens or trousers as I am bottom heavy and feel comfortable in them. I wear printed tops to draw the eye up and balance out my body.

Who are your style icons? Why?

Sarah Jessica Parker is one of my style icons. She always looks fabulous whether shes on Sex And The City, on the red carpet, or snapped in Heat magazine buying a coffee. I love her style, she always looks very elegant and feminine. I always love what she wears.

Where do you find style inspiration?

A lot of my style inspiration comes from the people around me as a lot of the girls I work with are young they tend to be very on trend. I also like a good magazine for style advice and tips  -  and also for the juicy celeb gossip!

Are you more of a trip to the high street or shop online girl?

I love the high street. I always look at the window displays being going in stores. I do look online but I like to see the material and features and benefits of the garment before I purchase.

Do you follow any magazines or blogs?

I do love a good magazine, the one I buy the most is Look magazine for the fashion and beauty tips. I also like to keep up to date with the Evans Blog to see what the latest styles are and also to see what the brand has been up to.

If you could give one piece of style advice to women, what would it be?

Dress for your shape. Once you put clothes on that fit you in the right places it will boost your confidence and you will feel fantastic. If its for a special occasion try stepping out of your comfort zone  -  even if its just trying different styles on, its good to experiment with fashion.

What is your favourite fashion piece?

My favourite fashion piece has to be my denim jacket. It goes with anything. Whether you have a light/medium/dark wash, regular or cropped length, the denim jacket is a timeless classic that can be worn with just about anything.

Are there any beauty secrets you can share with us?

I have used Olay moisturiser for years on my hands and face and it keeps my skin really smooth and the wrinkles away. Also, smile! It prevents frown lines and makes you instantly more attractive to people.

What is your must-have item from Evans this season?

My must have item is the bolero cardigan. I always ensure I have a bolero in my wardrobe to throw on with my maxi dresses. I especially like the sparkly boleros we have in at the minute for when I go out at night  -  a girls got to have a bit of bling!

What is your role at Evans?

I am a shape advisor at Evans. I offer customers styling advice and assistance. I always try and find out what customers are looking for on their shopping trip and ensure I meet these needs. I always make sure customers are happy with their purchase and feel/look good in what they have bought. When a customer leaves the store feeling happy  -  I feel happy.

What do you like about working at Evans?

I love working in retail and being face to face with customers  -  working for the Evans brand is a bonus. Sharing a shopping experience with a customer who is looking for an outfit for a special occasion and finding them one they love and want to wear is priceless! Also I have a fabulous team around me who I use for support and we bounce ideas off each other.
