Have you ever tried wearing wide leg trousers? If not, then here’s a little helping hand to get you started!
Wide leg trousers always look smart and sophisticated as they create a smooth, crease free line. This makes them a great option for work as well as for a smart evening out or a lunch date.
They’re also an easy way to complement your shape without looking as if you’ve tried too hard. For example, if you wear wide leg trousers with a shorter jacket it will emphasise your waist, which is ideal for women with hourglass silhouettes. If you’re apple shaped then wide leg trousers will add to your bottom half to help balance your body.
One pair of wide leg trousers can be worn for a variety of occasions, making them excellent value for money on apounds per wear basis!
Below we’ve styled wide leg trousers in three different ways. Have a look and tell us your favourite and why?
Look 1 – Work To Bar
If you want a smart look that you can wear from day to night then think monochrome. The mono print kimono top is made from a gorgeous fabric and if you cinch it in at the waist it will help you create an hourglass silhouette. Match it with black court shoes, a black bag and black pendant earrings.
Look 2 – Running Errands
Wide leg trousers are super comfortable as they allow you room to move. For those days when you’re schedule is packed but you need a chic but casual outfit, pair some wide leg trousers with a nautical inspired black and ivory stripe top and a vibrant red tab cardigan. While it can be tempting to wear a loose top with wide fit trousers, the close fit of the striped top is more flattering because it shows off your shape rather than adding unneccesary volume.
Look 3 – Coffee With Friends
For a lovely laidback look you can pair wide leg trousers with a grey pocket tunic top and ankle boots; stunning but not overstyled. Notice how the tunic top will show off your shape, which is more flattering than something loose or baggy. If it’s cold then adding a chic scarf and a green mac will guarantee you turn heads when you arrive, with the flattering shape of the mac cinching the waist to create hourglass curves.
