Have you ever tried wearing wide leg trousers? If not, then here’s a little helping hand to get you started!
Wide leg trousers always look smart and sophisticated as they create a smooth, crease free line. This makes them a great option for work as well as for a smart evening out or a lunch date.
They’re also an easy way to complement your shape without looking as if you’ve tried too hard. For example, if you wear wide leg trousers with a shorter jacket it will emphasise your waist, which is ideal for women with hourglass silhouettes. If you’re apple shaped then wide leg trousers will add to your bottom half to help balance your body.
One pair of wide leg trousers can be worn for a variety of occasions, making them excellent value for money on apounds per wear basis!
Below we’ve styled wide leg trousers in three different ways. Have a look and tell us your favourite and why?
Look 1 – Work To Bar
If you want a smart look that you can wear from day to night then think monochrome. The mono print kimono top is made from a gorgeous fabric and if you cinch it in at the waist it will help you create an hourglass silhouette. Match it with black court shoes, a black bag and black pendant earrings.
Look 2 – Running Errands
Wide leg trousers are super comfortable as they allow you room to move. For those days when you’re schedule is packed but you need a chic but casual outfit, pair some wide leg trousers with a nautical inspired black and ivory stripe top and a vibrant red tab cardigan. While it can be tempting to wear a loose top with wide fit trousers, the close fit of the striped top is more flattering because it shows off your shape rather than adding unneccesary volume.
Look 3 – Coffee With Friends
For a lovely laidback look you can pair wide leg trousers with a grey pocket tunic top and ankle boots; stunning but not overstyled. Notice how the tunic top will show off your shape, which is more flattering than something loose or baggy. If it’s cold then adding a chic scarf and a green mac will guarantee you turn heads when you arrive, with the flattering shape of the mac cinching the waist to create hourglass curves.

Autumn is on it’s way and that means it’s time to welcome a fresh new colour palette of rich reds, warm browns and deep oranges.
Below are some of our favourite new season items.
Which one do you like most?
A duffle coat is appropriate for smart and casual occasions but one thing’s for sure, you’ll always make a bright entrance in this red colour.
Chocolate belted twill trousers are a smarter alternative to jeans. The colour is gorgeous and they’re elegant enough for the office but comfortable enough to wear when chilling out with friends.
Colour blocking was fashionable in summer but it’s changed from neons and brights into browns and blacks like you’ll find displayed on the lovely colour block tunic
Evans rust sleeveless shell top can be worn under a jacket during the day then you can dress it up with heels and skinny jeans for night. It’s so versatile!
Shoe boots are brilliant in Autumn and this lace up black style will go with jeans, leggings and maxi skirts
An outfit is not complete without appropriate jewellery and the brown irregular ring will match the colours of your Autumn clothes
A pointelle cardigan is great for days when you can’t work out what the weather will do. It’s available in black and white, but we especially like the purple colour as it makes us feel bright and cheery.
A brown knot collar necklace is the ideal Autumn accessory, either to liven up a black top or dress or to complement the colour of a brown top or jumper.
So what’s your favourite?
Hello! I’m Rebecca, the writer of the plus-size fashion blog The Plus Side of Me. Living in the U.S., I was completely unaware of Evans until I started reading plus-size blogs, and this store opened up a whole new set of possibilities for my wardrobe that incredibly excited me. One of the best finds on the Evans site was their wide array of shoe styles, since wide shoes and style rarely were synonymous for me before.
Evans shoes have a style for every occasion, but there are 5 standout styles that I covet for the upcoming fall season.
The Basic Heel: Evans Black Block Heel Court Shoes are the perfect black heel for nights out on the town, going to work, or dressing up for an event. I love the suede finish, and the heel is substantial enough to wear for more than an hour. For me this shoe is the perfect compromise of fashion and functionality, as I can wear it looking chic and feeling comfortable.
The Fun Flat: Evans Leopard Point Ballerina Flats caught my eye the minute I spotted them. I spend most of my days in flats, so any time I can find a pair that instantly add something worthwhile to an outfit, I get excited. I’m in love with the leopard print that makes these flats unique, and the patent black toecap makes the shoes feel luxurious. These flats add interest to any work ensemble, and will definitely be my go-to shoe when I’m ready to spend a day out shopping.
The Smart Heel: The fall season always brings back the theme of going back to school, and a lot of fall fashion is inspired by a school uniform look. One of the looks currently popular today in this school-time style is the high-heeled loafer. Evans Burgundy Block Court Shoes plays on this look with the chic tassels and the lovely burgundy colour. I always love a heel that has been inspired by classic menswear, as it brings an extra edge to any outfit.
The Chic Ankle Boot: Boots and ankle boots are a type of footwear I had never owned before this past winter. Typically my foot or ankle was too wide to ever find a decent style, but Evans has solved that problem for me. I’m in love with the Evans Tan Lace Up Ankle Boots. Originally I was drawn to the black colour, but I knew I needed to think of some new ways to up my footwear fashion. I love the suede finish and the laces that provide ankle support. I can imagine wearing these with skinny jeans or leggings, and the tan colour will perfectly accompany the fall season.
The Tall Boot: The absolutely hardest shoe for me to find is a tall boot that fits properly. Last year I finally bought my first pair that fit well from Evans, so I definitely have my eye on Evans’ boots. I most love the Evans Black Buckle Riding Boot because of the leather finish and elastic sections. The elastic sections allow for those of us with wider calves to have more comfort wearing the shoes, and the full-zipped size allows for putting on these boots with ease. These would go perfectly over skinny jeans or over tights with a dress.
These are my top 5 shoes for the fall season, and I’m predicting that my wallet will be much lighter this fall, but my feet will be much more stylish. What is your favourite shoe style?

We invited three bloggers, Rikke, Love and Tiffany to put together the perfect outfit to wear to a summer BBQ, the only catch was that the outfit they picked had to be under £75! Here are the pieces they chose . . .
Rikke from Sticky Sweet Danish
My friends and I have a lot of BBQs on the beach or in a park during the summer. We’re usually sat on blankets so my outfits are always comfortable for these kinds of events. However, comfortable doesn’t mean you can’t be chic! For this challenge I went with a very bohemian-inspired look. The maxi dress has a gorgeous colour and print; I especially love the bust detail. When styled with gold accessories and a hair band, the look has an oriental vibe! The red bracelet and stone bag add a little something quirky to match my personality and help keep the outfit casual. Now, you’re probably wondering why there aren’t any shoes. Well, since I’ll be walking around on sand or grass, I prefer to go barefoot! Cute nail polish, good friends, laughter and cool drinks will finish off this outfit nicely. Summer, I do love you!
Love from Nomade Gourmande
I choose this dress because of the prints and the short length. In summer you want to show some legs! I think this outfit is perfect for a summer BBQ because it’s light and easy. The dress is strong so you just need a few accessories like a necklace and rings. As it has long sleeves, there is no need to worry about matching with cuffs or bangles. I love the accessories I chose as they have the ethnic touch which works well with the leopard print. The shoes have a texture that makes me think of a python, which I love! You can easily wear this outfit on a night out as well, just put some heels on and add a clutch.
Tiffany from Fat Shopaholic
Summer BBQs are all about being comfortable and having fun, so that’s the direction I went in with this outfit. I love mixing feminine and masculine elements in outfits. The distressed boyfriend jeans add a masculine element, but still manage to look comfortable and relaxed. The flow of this top adds a feminine element, but is also super comfortable. Animal print is one of my favourite styles for both spring and fall. If you’re feeling naughty and want to go slightly over budget (oops!), just add this red chain link necklace as it brings the outfit together and adds a great pop of colour.

It’s Alissa from from Stylish Curves again! I love it when fall comes around because that means it’s time for coat season. When Evans sent me this super cute toggle coat I couldn’t wait to wear it. It’s still 90 degrees here in NYC, but having the jacket now allowed me to play around with some outfit ideas in preparation for the cool fall weather.
Below are 3 ways I will be wearing this toggle coat.
For the first look, I chose to wear the coat with one of my favourite floral dresses. I paired it with burgundy tights and camel coloured studded ankle boots for what I would call a girlie, slightly quirky look. Wearing the coat with this spring like dress is perfect for those early fall days.
My second look is for those days when it’s extra chilly. I threw my faux fur vest over the coat as a layering piece. Most people just put layers on under the coat and never really think about layering over their coat. I think fur vests are a great way to give your jackets a new energized look. Since I layered on top, I kept things simple with a turtleneck, straight jeans, and a pair of blush coloured suede heels. I would call this my downtown NYC celebrity look. In New York, you always see celebrities with their oversized shades on, a fur, and super high heels. This is my plus size girl interpretation!
The third look is what I would call a little preppy. It reminds me of back to school. For this look I layered a crisp white collar shirt under a bright yellow cardigan complete with my camel studded ankle boots for a little flair. One of things I like about this coat is the colour. It’s not your basic black or one of your blindingly bright colours. It’s a nice shade of light blue which means it looks great with a variety of pastel colours like yellow.

Has summer meant you’ve been buying lots of beach clothes and forgetting about the basics? It’s time to start thinking about lingerie again. The perfect lingerie will streamline your silhouette, support you in all the right places and help to make your clothes fit better.
Evans has the ideal solution in the form of a pretty embroidered mauve bra and knickers set, which is available in stores and online in September.
The ruched detail means it feels strokably soft next to your skin and the embroidered lace means it looks absolutely lovely.
The bra will go on sale for £25 and the knickers for £8.
If you want to guarantee it fits then have you checked out the bra-fitting sizing guide at http://bit.ly/pkpgHG yet?
