Get Romy’s Look!

What a fabulous year it’s been for The XX, who won the last Mercury Music Prize and were nominated in three categories at the Brit Awards.

Their debut album, also called XX,  has been praised for it’s refreshing originality and strong sound and it seems the group’s fashion matches their music.

Lead singer and guitarist Romy Madley Croft prefers a rock chick look of jeans and black shirt to the typical award ceremony outfit of a maxi dress and heels.

But she gets away with wearing exactly what she wants as the band were nominated for the Mastercard British album of the year, British Group and British Breakthrough Act.

While they narrowly missed out on winning any of the trophies, Romy stayed cool and comfortable throughout the show at the o2 arena. She’s confident in her clothes and it shows.

To get a rock chick look like Romy’s start with black trousers that will slim your legs like the black drapey utility trousers from evans. These have lots of pockets so you don’t need to carry a handbag, leaving you free to have spontaneous adventures, stage dive and dance all night like a true party girl.

You can show off your feminine side with a cute black top like the black pocket woven t-shirt. This is super flattering for your arms as the lace material skims over your shoulders, creating a slimming effect. Draw attention to your top half even more with accessories like a teardrop pendant necklace.

At the same time, show you can hold your own in a man’s world with some appropriate footwear. Romy can play guitar as good as any bloke in a band and she runs around the stage in comfort in her casual boots. A pair of evans leather biker boots will give you the same ‘can-do anything’ feeling.
