The fashion world’s glitz, glamour and gorgeous people have travelled to London for Fashion Week.
The programme of shows splits into two camps. It’s the elegant, tailored and ladylike pieces inspired by Mulberry, Burberry and Jaeger versus the outlandish, risqué and experimental creations of Vivienne Westwood and Alexander Wang. If this is a step too far for you straddling the gap is Matthew Williamson, whose floral dresses and colourful prints flatter all women.
For a sophisticated twist to our wardrobes let’s look at Burberry, which is renowned for it’s well-cut jumpsuits, gorgeous trousers and classic macs. Evans has a fantastic range of similar items with the animal print jumpsuit a flattering fit due to the printed top tapering in at the waist to allow the bottom half to skim the hips. Evans black jersey wide leg trousers lengthen your legs, especially if worn with this season’s wedges. The animal print mac and the navy sheen short mac add a sophisticated touch to any outfit.
If you want to brighten up your life this Spring / Summer then look at Vivienne Westwood, whose bold creations are worn by the world’s most beautiful women like Naomi Campbell, Jennifer Lopez and Beyonce. But we can all achieve a similar style at Evans starting with some cool trouser shapes. Love them or leave them, Harem pants are on trend this season and the print jersey harems have a punk twist, just like the stripe detail boyfit jeans. Evans new black and white jacket is guaranteed to get you noticed as are some colourful dresses. The Max C red frill dress and the Lovedrobe paint splash tunic are wild enough for a Westwood look.
Matthew Williamson’s outfits are more feminine and normally embellished with a floral print. Gorgeous floral items at Evans include the floral pintuck shirt and the Lovedrobe floral tunic. Williamson always has at least one bright maxi dress in his collection, just like the Lovedrobe paisley print maxi dress.
All these items are in-stores and online now with the added bonus of being much more purse friendly than catwalk alternatives!
