The gorgeous Adele is bringing a breath of fresh air back to the music world with a new album and a cool new image.
When the charts are dominated by X Factor contestants, the Brit award winning singer stands out for her individuality and creativity in terms of both music and fashion.
She’ll be performing her single Rolling In The Deep at this year’s Brit Awards and we’ve already seen the star and admired her outfits on TV chat shows like Alan Carr and Graham Norton.
Adele’s secret is investing in classic wardrobe basics that can be mixed and matched to create an effortlessly chic outfit.
A navy and white stripe top looks great with jeans or a denim skirt and you can wear it with leggings and boots to sail through any occasion.
A pair of straight leg jeans can be worn from day to night and suit everything. Evans has some that are excellent value for money at £19.50.
Stylish flat shoes like the evans black ballerinas are comfortable as well as cute and available in sizes 4-11 and wide and extra wide fit. All for just £15
To keep the look individual, mix and match your accessories. The fabric rose hair clips are a bright and upbeat way to keep your hair out of your face so you can tackle all weathers without worrying about frizz.
She also looks great in this fur collared coat, perfect for battling the British breeze. Our Dark Chocolate Fur Neck Coat will ensure you look as wonderful and warm.
Adele famously sang about Chasing Pavements but in outfits like this she’ll have people chasing after her and asking for fashion tips!
Let me introduce myself, my name is Naomi and I write the blog Diamonds ‘n’ Pearls. I am a big girl, with a big love for all things fashion related and through my blog I love to talk about my experiences of the fashion industry as a plus size woman. I wholeheartedly believe that everybody deserves to look and feel good irrelevant of shape or size. I love looking at what is going on in the plus size fashion industry at the moment and I also enjoy putting outfits together that make me feel good which will hopefully inspire other plus size women to enjoy fashion as much as I do, without limitations or boundaries and massive emphasis on imagination and confidence.
Recently I attended the plus-size-tall model final in London, sponsored by Evans, and had an amazing day supporting all the beautiful women who were flying the flag for all us curvy girlies. Watching them strut their stuff was fantastic; the girls walked the catwalk amazingly after a fabulous workshop on walking in heels by Chyna Whyne.
I am a massive fan of fabulous shoes and could totally relate to Chyna and her ethos on how walking in heels can really make you feel super confident. Last year I bought a stunning pair of heeled sandals from Evans, they went with absolutely everything and I plan on sporting them again this season, but in the mean time there’s no harm eye-balling a few new pairs, is there girls?! So here are my favourite pairs on sale at the moment . . .
I love these strappy buckle platforms, especially the colour. I would team them up with the stripe detail boyfit jean, the short sleeve stone pocket top, a lovely little clutch like the sodamix studded party bag and a great bit of statement jewellery like this gold engraved cuff, I could wear this for an evening catching up with the girls sipping cocktails and gossiping the night away. Super girly chic !
I love the hard edge of these peeptoe ankle boots and would put them with a really funky rock chick type outfit. I really love the Punkyfish skull vest, teamed up with a great jacket like the PU biker jacket, the biker is going to stick around for a while yet girls so get one! A great outfit for a Friday night spent in the pub !
And last but not least for any fashionista the shoe that is going to be hot this coming season is the clog! I was a little dubious about them at first but after seeing these styles bought out by Evans recently I thought about putting them with a gorgeous floaty chiffon tunic , black leggings, this tiger eye ring and wrapped hoop earrings for a hot Valentines Day date maybe ?
Now I just need to own them all!

She is the Executive Fashion Director for PLUS Model Magazine, where she oversees all the fashion within the magazine, as well as styles and coordinates the photo shoots that take place on the west coast of America.
Reah is also proud and honoured to have been recently named the Plus Fashion Stylist of the Year for 2010 by Full Figured Fashion Week. Here she shares with us her favourite trends for the upcoming spring season.
Spring transition can be a very tricky time in fashion and very often my clients ask me what is appropriate to wear during these transitional months before spring is in full swing. At this point, we have put away our sequins, satin and velvet from our winter wardrobes, but we are not quite ready for our sandals and sundresses. In order to make it super effortless and take the guessing out of getting dressed for spring transition, I have put together some of my favorite items from Evan’s to highlight my three favorite trends that you can wear right now!
Neutrals are an absolute must have this time of year. These basic items are subtle, understated, easy to mix and match, and help bring us back to centre after all of the holiday dazzle. The best thing about neutrals is that they are timeless and versatile, so you can wear them well into the spring and summer months.

The nautical trend is the absolute classic for spring transition that is seen, without a doubt, every year at this time. I love this trend because it is based on the resort/holiday lifestyle, and it is clean, crisp and looks very fresh. Navy and white mixed with stripes, yellow, red and pops of gold are easy to wear both everyday or on a holiday.

Floral prints and accessories are being seen everywhere this time of year, in endless colors, prints, styles. Most of the florals we are currently seeing are more muted colors and smaller ditsy prints, and as we move into the spring and summer months we will see these timeless prints become larger, brighter and more saturated. Enjoy wearing these fabulous, small, muted ditsy prints now with leggings, jeans, flats, boots, and a cute cardigan, and layer your winter jacket on top if it’s still a bit chilly.

High heel guru Chyna Whyne offers confidence, advice and training to women who want to walk well in heels. She gave support and positive encouragement to the fourteen finalists at last week’s plus-size-tall final. Here we catch up with her to find out her top tips on how to walk in heels successfully…
What is your top tip for women who want to walk well in heels?
Women deserve to feel fabulous and walk with grace, elegance and ease, and I have the solution to high heels heaven for ladies! Many women feel they can’t walk in heels and are usually not confident enough to wear them because they feel they are too heavy and don’t want to appear clumsy by walking heavily in them. Walking in high heels well will instil confidence and ignite the inner goddess in any woman if she knows how! First you need to make sure you have a well made, balanced pair of heels that support your feet then you can learn to improve your posture and become lighter on your feet so that you glide.
Tell us more about the techniques you use…
I like to use the Alexander technique as it is a perfect way to get women on the road to transformation in heels. The technique will:
Also a calm mind can help improve your confidence, posture and balance which will see your self esteem soar! My company, Walking in Stilettos, offers private lessons that are gentle, powerful and are a ‘must’ for any woman who is looking to unleash the inner goddess within them!
How important is the right pair of shoes for having confidence?
Having the right pair is imperative to walking well in heels! If a shoe appears unstable it will not support you and you will find that you struggle. The best heels must be the correct size. There is no point in buying a pair of shoes that are too big or too small, the shoe will be a hazard and could cause you to have an accident or deform your feet. Don’t be fooled into thinking that the more expensive the shoe, the more stable it will be… this is not the case!
And finally which are your favourite heels at Evans right now?
If you’re planning a festival trip or have a resolution to get out and about in the fresh air then you’ll love evans new wellies.
We’re proud to introduce a fresh, new style of wonderful wellies each season. To satisfy those who have previously gone dotty over our spotted pair or blooming crazy for our floral designs, the latest addition to the range is a pair of blue heart wellies.
With powder blue hearts on a primary blue background they’re flirty and feminine. There’s something about being outside that makes us more adventurous than normal so it’s the perfect time to wear something bright. Come rain or shine you can’t help feeling happy when you have lots of little love hearts forming a protective bubble around your legs.
And talking of protection, you’ll be able to walk, or skip, through the great outdoors all day feeling comfortable and cosy thanks to the extra wide calf fit.
They’re available in sizes 4 to 8 and EEE extra wide fit and they’ll last you for ages. Simply wipe clean after each outing.
These are hearts that are impossible to break. Look out for them in stores and online in March.
Ease your way into the start of the year by picking a fabric that is comfortable but can be dressed up or down: denim!
Most of us have a pair of jeans in our wardrobe but how many of us are aware of all the different styles on sale? From straight leg jeans and bootcut jeans to jeggings and boy fits, there’s a different pair of plus-size jeans to suit all occasions. And this season evans has some gorgeous new denim skirts, shirts and jackets.
If you’re looking for a cool and casual daytime look then pick a pair of jeans that enable you to move around in comfort. The stripe detail boy fit jeans are super soft and stretchy and the tapered ankle makes them stylish and flattering. Or the carpenter boy fit stretch jeans have lots of pockets – perfect it you’re out and about for a casual day look.
If you’re looking for something a little smarter then try a denim skirt. One of the most popular styles is the maxi skirt and a denim maxi skirt with a cotton blouse or pretty floral top is an ideal way to work the boho trend. Or try the indigo knee length skirt from evans with a pair of knee high boots and an embellished top for a rock chick look.
Jeggings are the best option if you want something to take you from day to night. The indigo jeggings from evans suit tunics and party tops as well as knitwear so you can layer up and be prepared for all weathers and all social events. A denim jacket is equally versatile and is a wardrobe essential for the season. It’s time to start being more daring with your denim!
Glee actress Amber Riley is a fantastic role model for plus-size women. We love seeing her striking red carpet outfits, which she teams with dazzling accessories, stunning shoes and a mega-watt smile.
What’s inspiring about Amber is that her amazing outfits are simple yet sexy. At the People’s Choice Awards in LA, the actress strutted down the red carpet in a flattering purple dress that showed off her curves. The band at the waist gave her a classic 1950s silhouette. We don’t know how much her dress cost but we do know the evans purple kimono jersey dress, which has a tie belt at the waist, is just £35.
To finish the look add grey peep toe courts with a round toe and padded sole for extra comfort are just £29.50.Try the £5 twist hoop earrings .The finishing touch is a pretty bracelet – at just £10. Did you notice the whole look is less than £100? What a Glee-ful way to shop in the new year!
On Saturday, I attended the competition final that was sponsored by Evans, at the chic Avalon Club in Shoreditch. There were 14 beautiful contestants present, they all welcomed me with smiles & hugs and they were extremely excited for the curvy event to get started. The event organisers Thibault & Aimee, gave us an overview of the busy schedule for the day. First, the girls went downstairs, to change into their casual wear for the runway. Hair and beauty was next which was done by Mai Lee’s amazing team from Beauty Base who did a fantastic job on enhancing the girl’s natural beauty. The girls then had rehearsals and a lesson on how to walk in heels, with the phenomenal Chyna Whyne, who was also the runway coach for Britain’s Next Top Model. She taught them how to strut their curves with confidence, and elegance. Although she was only booked for an hour, she stayed the whole day to cheer the girls on, which helped tremendously, because she kept the girls calm and lifted their spirits.
After rehearsals, the audience and judging panel arrived. The judging panel was made up by Rachel Sproule, who is the Creative Director at Evans, Lauren Darling, from Pocket Rocket, Rianne Ward, from Evolve Magazine, Sue Thomason, editor in chief of Beautiful magazine and Abi, from Hughes Modelling Agency. The girls had a short break, and mingled with their friends and family and before we knew it the real show began and nerves were running high. The girls were really supportive of one another, and boosted each other’s confidence. Although it was a competition it didn’t feel like one! The girls truly bonded, and they had a blast just being there! It was very moving to see how much love they had for one another.
The first part of the show started, which was the casual wear and all the girls were dressed in white tops and jeans. They were able to accessorize their outfit themselves, which allowed their personality to shine through. The second part of the show was black evening wear, and the girls looked stunning! They were asked questions by the judging panel, and rocked the runway. There was then a short break, while the judging panel deliberated on the winner. It wasn’t long before the judges were back to announce the winner, who was Kelsey Arif! The runner ups were Serena Jacob & Georgina Horne! Congratulations Kelsey, and well done to all the beautiful contestants!
As I spent the whole day at the final, it was amazing to see how much the girls achieved! That morning they were all extremely anxious, and by the end of the day, they were transformed into confident models. I think the event was a great success! I hope that this event could become annual, because it promotes diversity and beauty in all shapes and sizes which the fashion industry desperately needs. I’m glad that Plus-Size-Tall & Evans, were able to put this event together, because it was truly a remarkable experience.
Now why not get the look?
For runner up Georgina’s simple but sophisticated casual wear look, choose the white shadow stripe top and waist clinching black lizard stud waist belt, then accessorise with a flower necklace and glitter bangles.
This Saturday was the final of the plus-size-tall model competition. We gathered in the Avalon Club in Shorditch as sponsors of the event and managed to get some great photos of the stunning final 14 contestants. The winner who now heads to Las Vegas to enter the next stage of the competition was Kelsey. Congratualtions Kelsey! Here are a few photos from the day with more to follow tomorrow…
