As well as interviewing the lovely Marquita Pring at the Evans S/S 2011 photo shoot, I was also able to interview world-renowned make-up artist Kim Brown, and hairstylist Chi Wong about upcoming hair and beauty trends. Both were so warm & friendly and they were more than happy to answer my questions.
Kim’s S/S 2011 Beauty Predictions:
‘ This S/S 2011, we’re going to be seeing a lot of 70′s inspired looks, bold lips, bold eyes, bold cheeks etc. There will be a bold pop of colour this season, unlike last season, where it was all about the gold/bronze metallic shades. However, pastels will also be making a come back this season. On the runway, many models sported soft feminine looks with light shimmering shadows just on the inner corner of their eyes. So there will be two extremes this season, the extremely bold 70′s look in contrast to the soft pastels. ‘
Chi’s S/S 2011 Hair Predictions:
‘ This S/S 2011 is definitely inspired by the 60s, there will be a lot of Bridget Bardot inspired hair styles. The bouffant, the pixie cut as we’ve recently seen with Emma Watson, and the perky flirtatious ‘Barbie-esque’ ponytail as we’ve seen on the Louis Vutton runway, so there will be a wide variety of hairstyles, that have volume, that will be featured on the catwalk. Alexander Wang and Miu Miu have used 60′s inspired hairstyles in their spring collections, so this will be a popular trend this season. ‘
