Style Inspiration: Beth Ditto
It’s very hard to talk about plus size fashion icons without mentioning Beth Ditto. Whether you love her or hate her, there’s no denying that she is at the forefront of the plus size fashion movement. With the anticipation of the upcoming collaboration collection with Evans growing every day, I wanted to highlight some of (what I deem to be) her best fashion moments.
The thing that I love the most about Beth’s fashion choices is that they defy the media’s stereotypical portrayal of curvy woman. She breaks every plus size fashion rule there is and shows that as plus size women, we can wear strapless things, we can wear body conscious dresses, we can wear any and everything that straight size women can and look amazing doing so. She is a definite fashion inspiration!

Evans Loves. . . Amber Riley
Amber Riley is looking fantastic at the moment. Whether she dressing up for a awards ceremony or keeping it casual she really knows how to wear fashionable clothes to flatter her figure and curves. The Glee star compliments her look with up-to-the-minute accessories, glossy locks and a great smile.
We think she looks totally fabulous, and we can’t wait for the new season of Glee!
Jolie Julie Coming Soon!
We have a tantalising treat for you today. Blank have brought out a range of fabulous new dresses called Jolie Julie, that will soon be sold in Evans stores and online.
Jolie means pretty in French and the label’s dresses are absolutely gorgeous!
We love the range of colours from mint to pink to beautiful browns and nudes. And if you look close up, you’ll see the print looks like it’s been painted on the fabric. Stunning!
The maxi dresses can be worn during the day to summer picnics or barbecues or dressed up for night time soirees by adding some killer heels.

Festival Fun
The highlight of my week was seeing JLS perform at the Isle Of Man festival.
The crowd went absolutely crazy for the X Factor runners up as they did what they did best: flirting with the people in the front rows and signing autographs after their 45 minute set.
Festivals are great for seeing a variety of different bands perform and they are amazing for people watching.
I always take notice of what other festival goers are wearing for inspiration.
At this particular event, I reckon the best-dressed couple were mother and daughter Amy and Claire Collins, who are from the Isle of Man.
I love the way they have matched their pink outfits.
Pink is a fabulous colour for summer and it makes you stand out in a crowd (so JLS are more likely to spot you in the audience!)
And Amy’s colourful maxi dress is bold and beautiful and brilliant for wearing from day to night.
Evans has a great range of printed maxi dresses from a splash print maxi dress to a red floral stripe maxi dress so you can be the belle of the festival field at all the other music events this summer.

Sophie Anderton Back to her Best
Former Gossard model Sophie Anderton looks better than ever and it’s all because she has moved out of London.
The lingerie queen has had a tough few years with public battles with ex-boyfriends and drugs and alcohol, but things seem to be looking up.
The ex I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here contestant confided to me: ‘I’m happier than I have ever been before as I have moved into a rented flat in Surrey and got rid of all the bad influences.
‘I like it so much that I am buying my own place in Surrey in September.
‘I haven’t had a drop of alcohol in four months and the only wild thing I do now is ride horses.’
The peach dress she wore to the Jeans for Genes launch party certainly highlighted her healthy complexion.
Nude is on trend this season and Evans has a great selection of beige and cream clothes.

Stacey Soloman Joins the Maxi Dress Crew
Celebrities can’t get enough of maxi dresses. Here is X Factor star Stacey Soloman wearing a gorgeous black maxi dress at the launch of this year’s Jeans for Genes charity fund raising day.
On 1 October, people around the UK are being encouraged to swap their formal clothes for their favourite jeans and donate money to the charity that changes the lives of children with genetic disorders.
What a great excuse to splash out on a cool new pair of jeans!
At the launch party at London’s five star Sanctum Hotel, the bubbly Essex babe told me that she wants to take things one stage further and do a charity run as well as don some denim.
Stacey gushed: ‘I’m really passionate about children’s charities now I am a mother.
‘If anyone asks me to do something then I can’t say no, so I’ve just signed up for a 5km run. I’ve never done one before so I am a bit nervous.’
Well, we all have to start somewhere and the stunning singer seemed in great shape at the party in her flattering maxi dress.

Plus Size Fashion is More Popular Than Ever!
We all want to look gorgeous no matter what size or shape we are.

Well good news; the world of plus-size clothing is booming.
More and more retailers are taking a lead from Evans and making clothes for women in sizes 14 plus.
We spotted a really interesting article in the New York Times about the demand for fashion in larger sizes, which you can read here.
It centres around former model Gwen DeVoe, who has just launched Fuller Figure Fashion Week in New York, and it explains how American chains Forever 21 and Target are the latest retailers to launch plus-size fashion ranges.
The Fuller Figure Fashion Week shows are packed out every night in New York and we wouldn’t be surprised if the concept moved to the UK next as the market is growing rapidly.
