You know summer is here when the celebrities shun their little black dresses for something a little bit more colourful, which is what happened at this week’s National Movie Awards. Ex-Eastender Michelle Ryan’s choice of gold dress means that everyone noticed her.
She’s just got back from America, where she filmed TV show Bionic Woman and a new movie called 126.96.36.199, which is released in cinemas today.
‘If I could choose what movie to do next, I’d do another Pink Panther,’ the stunning star told me. ‘I love classic movies and there’s just something about the pink panther that means I can watch it over and over and over again.’
Talking of pink, Gwyneth Paltrow picked a bright cerise number to present the Screen Icon Award to Tom Cruise.
What’s great about both of the celebrities’ dresses is that they have wide straps so you can wear a bra underneath for extra support.
All Evans going out dresses are designed with comfort in mind. Why not have a look now?
Twilight is one of the biggest film sensations ever, with its star Robert Pattinson being mobbed everywhere he goes. I had the pleasure of meeting the man that plays R-Patz’s on screen father this week. Peter Facinelli, who plays Dr Carlisle Cullen in the Vampire films, got so close to Rob he’s even seen him in the shower.
‘We go to the gym trailer most days on set, you share showers, it’s normal,’ Peter told me. Wow!
They’re shooting the fourth Twilight, Breaking Dawn, in the Autumn (I think I need a trip to Canada where its filmed!)
Peter also revealed details of the real life romance between R-Patz and his co-star Kirsten Stewart, saying: ‘They make a cute couple. Kirsten’s great. She’s down to earth, laid back and easy to talk to.’
Does that means I should pack jeans if I do decide on a trip to Canada?
There were two things I noticed when I spotted Daisy Lowe at the launch of a new Louis Vuitton store this week.
Yes, I couldn’t take our eyes off her cleavage; she looked amazing in a low cut black vest at the star studded bash in LV’s new Bond Street shop. But I was also impressed by her bold and brassy skirt. Giving just a hint of calf and ankle is sexier than putting it all on show in a mini skirt. And it’s refreshing to see there is a stylish alternative to wearing a dress to a formal event.
Looking like this Daisy will have no shortage of male attention but I had to ask about one man in particular, the new Dr Who Mat Smith. The pair got hot and steamy at the Coachella festival in LA last month, but Daisy came across all shy when his name came up. However, she did reveal that she was moving back to the UK though, after spending time modelling in New York last year. Is that because she wants to closer to Matt?
I’m looking forward to seeing more of Daisy and her edgy fashion choices at chic showbiz events very soon.
And if you haven’t done so already, check out the gorgeous skirts at Evans.
We can’t imagine Katherine Jenkins or VV Brown in wellies digging up weeds in the garden, but they were a couple of the VIP guests at the Chelsea Flower show this week.
You don’t have to be green-fingered or have the biggest interest in gardens to visit the annual flower extravaganza. We used it as inspiration for how to wear this season’s floral trend.
Each stand on the 1.1 acre West London site showed us blooms come in all shapes, colours and sizes.
For example, James May’s plasticine garden had oranges, yellows and white daisies
It reminds us of the crushed orange floral top at Evans.
We loved Harts’ Nurseries Lily Garden, which was full of pinks and whites like the ivory scoop neck top at Evans.
The vegetable garden is like the ruffle paisley top
But our pick of the bunch was the model we spotted in a dress literally made from roses.
It was bold, bright and beautiful just like the rose print frill hem top at Evans.
In this month’s Tush Magazine, plus size supermodel Crystal Renn shows a fresh way to wear double denim. I am usually not a fan of wearing multiple denims together however, after seeing her editorial, I was sold! I am loving the rockabilly feeling that these photos give off and Crystal looks amazing, as usual. Below I’ve re-interpreted three looks from the editorial to show how this look can work for plus size women. Let me know which one is your favorite!

We are so pleased to see that our gorgeous range of Ruby Belle dresses have been featured in this weeks Look magazine!
The premiere of Sex And The City 2 on Thursday and the film’s general release on Friday is inspiring us to think about shoes.
After all, when Mr Big bought Carrie a walk-in wardrobe where she could store her shoes in the first film, every girl in the audience fell a little bit in love.
A girl can never have enough heels. And with summer coming up, we think its about time to shop for some party sandals.
What’s great about shopping at Evans is that shoes come in wide E and extra wide EEE fit, so you can wear the sandals all night long.
Carrie Bradshaw would never dream of taking off her sandals midway through the night because she had blisters, and neither should you!
For the ultimate in city chic, try the chain and stud sandals in tan or black.
But remember, this SATC also goes on location in Morocco and Evans tribal leather sandals would be perfect for such summer adventures. 2 styles that come in brown or black.
Of course, if you were Carrie you’d buy both. And then check out the other shoes & sandals on sale at Evans. Enjoy!
I’m looking forward to the weekend and I plan to start having fun the moment I clock off work today.
This butterfly print maxi dress (coming in next week!) suits my mood and will take me into the beer garden for a nice glass of Friday Rose.
Without something over the top, this maxi dress would be too OTT for work, so I’ve added a soft denim biker jacket. But I can’t resist some playful jewellery in the shape of a leather charm necklace.
This oversized white leather bag is roomy and yet stylish. I’ve been shopping at lunchtime and filled it to bursting point!
Paris Hilton is not in a film but came to Cannes to party and get paid for it.
The heiress, who is staying on a yacht with her whole family (mum, dad, brother and sister), earned £20,000 for less than three hours at the VIP club.
She even took her brother Baron to party with her and they shared a table on a balcony overlooking the DJ decks.
Paris looked fabulous in a black and grey number. More proof aside from J Lo that silver is taking over from black when it comes to party dresses!
It was hard to have a conversation in the packed club, but I tried to shout to Paris to ask what she was up to.
‘TV, fashion, film, partying!’ she shouted down to me.
Paris is single at the moment after splitting from her long-term boyfriend Doug Reinhardt. If she’s up to so much, how’s she going to find time for her next romance?
She wasn’t short of male attention in the VIP club but called it a night at 4am to share a cab with her brother. Work must be taking it out of her; I’ve never seen her so well behaved.
The Cannes Film Festival is as much about parties as it is about movies and the best bash of the week was the Vanity Fair magazine party at the Eden Roc restaurant.
It was wall to wall celebrities with Martin Scorcese, Jennifer Hudson, Naomi Campbell, Juliette Binoche, Meg Ryan, Josh Brolin, Tim Burton, Eva Herzigova and Kate Beckinsale.
But the best dressed has to be Jennifer Lopez in a gorgeous silver grey one shoulder ruffle dress.
Maybe grey is the new black when it comes to evening wear so indulge your inner diva by shopping for silver like Jennifer.
It wasn’t just the dress making her look radiant, as JLo was accompanied everywhere she went by her devoted husband Marc Anthony.
They stole moments alone during the party and Jennifer even burst into giggles at one point. Sweet!
Clearly still in love despite the pressures of one-year old twins Max and Emme, it raises the question how long is it before we see Jennifer Lopez give birth to baby number three?
